Welcome

Welcome to the Box River Benefice, following the departure of Father Rob, the Benefice is currently in Interregnum. Our Parochial Church Councils, Rural Dean and Archdeacon will now start the process of finding a new vicar for our churches.  During this period of Interregnum, the Benefice Office and Clergy Team are on hand to support you with all enquiries.  The Benefice email address will be checked daily and emergency queries will be dealt with as needed, non-urgent queries will be actioned on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday morning, when the office is open.   We remain committed to serving our community.  Please do not hesitate to reach out—we are here for you.

We are five churches in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. These churches are the spiritual hubs of their communities. There have been churches on some of these sites for around a thousand years. That sounds impressive enough, but what is of greater importance is that there have been people here worshipping God and serving their communities through faith for all that time and longer! They are powerhouses of prayer and their spirituality continues to cascade like a waterfall over the surrounding areas and those who live here.  People have found a welcome and a home here; people of all ages, life situations and cultures. Everyone is welcome!

Every person is unique and uniquely loved by God. Each one of us has the freedom and the opportunity to discover and explore that love for ourselves as life’s journey unfolds. The church properly understood is not something we build. The Church is our participation in the eternal reality of God. In the Box River Benefice, we seek to celebrate God’s amazing goodness and to discover how He is at work in our lives and communities today. We are a church seeking to recognise God right in the centre: of our individual lives, of our shared life as churches, and of the wider community.

If Christian faith is about anything, it is about bringing joy to the world. Not a superficial joy that ignores the difficult stuff, but a deep rooted joy that helps us see the beauty even amidst struggles. ‘The light shines in the darkness’! We look to emulate the joy we see in Jesus through the Gospels and to live it out in the community and common-life we share.

May God, who made you and loves you, richly Bless You.
